Ordering Process For Silicone Vacuum Bag
1: Pick up the right color you want.
2: Tell us the external size. The important thing is we must guarantee your machine’s space is big enough to accommodate the bag
- Customers give us a size firstly, for example 1900*4000mm. By default, we regard it as external size; so the real working area will be smaller than 1900*4000mm.
3: E-seals or U-seals on the four edges of a silicone vacuum bag?
4: Confirm the position and quantity of vacuum nozzles (ports).
- How many nozzles do you want for a bag? Only 1 port, 2 ports or more, please advise firstly.
- A nozzle's position is usually on one of the four corners.
Nozzles on the wide side
(1) Only one or more vacuum nozzles, depending on customers' requests.
Nozzles on the long side
(2) Positions of vacuum nozzles can be either on the long side or the wide.
5: Choose vacuum hoses (tubes).
- Usually 2M long each tube, or 3M, 5M, etc.
- Two types for your selection - "OD - 12mm & ID - 6mm" and "OD - 20mm & ID - 10mm".
- 70%-80% of customers prefer OD-12mm and ID-6mm silicone vacuum tube.
- 20%-30% of customers ever choose OD-20mm and ID-10mm silicone vacuum hose.
What is Silicone Vacuum Bag?
A silicone vacuum bag is used during the glass lamination process due to its strength, flexibility and temperature resistance up to 250°C. The bag is made of two pieces of silicone rubber sheets joined with silicone seals. One side of the sheet is textured to facilitate air flow and reduce friction between the composite elements. The air is evacuated from the bag by means of a hose and a nozzle also made of silicone. Equipped with an E or U type seal, it ensures perfect tightness and facilitates closing or opening the bag. In order to support the extraction of air from the space of the silicone vacuum bag, it is good practice to additionally insert a PTFE open mesh inside. Lack of mesh can seal the sheet on the glass and create an air bubble, which can result in inaccurate extraction of air and defects in the produced material. However, the use of PTFE mesh is only an example, any material can be used as long as it is resistant to higher temperature.
Product Overview
Each set of silicone vacuum bag consists of one top and one bottom silicone sheets. The top and bottom silicone membrane sheet edges are sophisticatedly embedded to each other, to make sealed room for vacuuming. The interlocking of edges and corners are easy. Edges and corners are specially modified, such as locking strength grow larger when vacuum pressure becomes higher.
Each bag is a combination of assembled parts with glue-bonding.
